Prof. Bruce McDonald, ETH Zurich, has kindly shared the slides he presented at the Fungal Genetics Conference, Asilomar, March, 2015.
His talk provides an update on current knowledge of the wheat blast pathogen in Brazil. Bruce wrote “We are hoping that quarantines will become more effective once we give this pathogen complex its own name to make it clear to everyone that the wheat blast pathogen is not so closely related to the rice blast pathogen.”
Bruce and his colleague Daniel Croll are among the community members who volunteered to analyze the wheat blast sequences from the Bangladeshi outbreak. Stay tuned!
